14 FALLS THIKA

Fourteen Falls is situated in the extreme Eastern part of Thika, in Kiambu constituency. It is a twenty minutes drive from Thika town along Thika - Garissa road. During the rainy seasons the fall attracts hundred of visitors from various parts of the world. Its a beautiful place.

I must say that my visit to fourteen falls was underwhelming when I think about all the splendid pictures I had seen before. What I saw during my recent visit was a river in need of rehabilitation. The river has been seriously contaminated with sewer water and it stinks from far. The greenish foaming flowed tirelessly as the water hyacinth  growing all over the fall threatened to shock it up.

At the entrance, I found the Kiambu County clerks eagerly waiting to collect the entrance fee. They charge Ksh 130 per person. I expect the Council to demonstrate the same eagerness in  protecting the river from pollution. Here are some of the photos from the famous 14 falls.
