Iconic Church in Windhoek    This iconic church in Windhoek, known as the Christuskirche, stands as a magnificent symbol of the city's rich history and architectural beauty. Its striking neo-Romanesque style, with a blend of Art Nouveau elements, immediately captures my attention every time I visit the capital. Completed in 1910 and designed by architect Gottlieb Redecker, this church has become a central landmark in Windhoek. The unique red-tiled roof, stunning stained-glass windows, and commanding presence in the heart of the city make the Christuskirche not only a place of worship but also a testament to the historical and cultural tapestry of Namibia. Immersive Journey Through Journalism's Pivotal Moments at the Newseum in Washington DC

As I walked through the doors of the Newseum in Washington, D.C., I embarked on a journey that took me through the phenomenal historic moments of journalism. The mission of the Newseum, to promote, explain, and defend free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment, became vividly clear as I viewed its captivating exhibits. The Newseum was established in 2008 and funded by the Freedom Forum, a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to championing free press, free speech, and free spirit. It stands between the U.S. Capitol and the White House at 555 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. It is a constant reminder of the essential role that journalism plays in our society, offering a space to reflect on the crucial values of free expression. One of the most striking aspects of the Newseum is its ability to showcase the global differences in freedom of the press.   The Berlin Wall Exhibit stood as a testament to the role of journalism in bringing down barriers. Standing before a section o...

The Vltava River of Prague

The Vltava River flows through the centre of Prague, and is the waterway around which the city has developed over the past 1000 years. The Old Town and the New Town lie on one side of the Vltava River. On the other bank is the Lesser Town and Prague Castle , which is a magnificent sight from the water. Spanning the two sides, in the heart of Prague, is Charles Bridge , a pedestrian crossing and focal point for visitors to the city. From Charles Bridge, the panoramic views over the river and of the historic buildings running along its banks are unrivalled. Take a leisurely stroll across the bridge, then take a river cruise under it, to enjoy two unique perspectives of Prague. Another way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Prague river scene is to dine at one of the riverside restaurants, some of which boast fine terraces looking out over the water.
